Soft, Not Frozen: What Modern Botox® Should Look Like

Fine lines and wrinkles are a sign of aging that nobody wants, but even the best products can’t stop time from taking its toll. Luckily, treatments like Botox® and other injectables help eliminate signs of aging.

But frozen faces are a thing of the past – modern Botox gives you a soft, youthful glow. At Novell Primary Care and Weight Loss in Tallahassee, Florida, our team provides Botox injections, weight loss tools, and wellness injections to help you look and feel your best.

What causes a “frozen” look?

We’ve all seen someone who has had way too much Botox; their face looks frozen, and they can barely smile or make any type of expression. That type of Botox is in the past, but it can still happen if you’re not careful.

A frozen Botox look occurs when someone injects too much Botox into a single area. The muscles freeze in place. The result is a stiff expression without normal movements or expressions.

People also get the frozen look when Botox is injected into the wrong areas. Muscles that allow for movement can become paralyzed. Botox isn’t a one-size-fits-all treatment. It should be personalized to your needs and goals.

How should modern Botox look?

Modern Botox is a core value in our practice. It’s about looking at each client individually, assessing their specific goals, and discussing the best Botox placement to achieve a natural look.

Good Botox should look soft and natural, suppressing dynamic wrinkles while still allowing some movement and expression. The goal is to make fine lines, wrinkles, and signs of aging less noticeable without giving away that you've had Botox treatment.

We aim for a refreshed, natural, and balanced look with modern Botox. We use precise placement along with customized dosing to achieve these results. We also do a movement assessment and provide microdosing where necessary.

What to expect from treatment

At the initial Botox consultation, we discuss goals and evaluate your skin. We talk about the risks and benefits, and discuss how many units of Botox you’ll need to achieve the desired results.

Botox injections may cause slight discomfort, but this fades quickly. We inject the needed units of Botox into targeted areas to create a rested, youthful glow.

This is an outpatient procedure, so you can go about your day afterward. You must follow certain instructions to ensure injections don’t migrate or cause problems.

In the first few hours, remain upright and avoid rubbing or massaging the injection sites. Wait at least 48 hours before strenuous physical activity and skip makeup for the day.

You can use cold compresses to reduce swelling and mild discomfort, but avoid heat, such as saunas or hot tubs. We provide gentle exercises you can do to help the Botox bind for a natural appearance.

If you’re ready to boost your confidence and delay the appearance of wrinkles, contact our Tallahassee, Florida, office today to schedule an appointment or book your consultation online.
